The 350-hectare recreational and nature reserve has been given back to nature and the sea. Between 2017 and 2021, the site of the former "Napoleon Hoeve" campsite and the adjacent "Oud-en Jong Breskenspolder" were renatured: For this purpose, the dyke was breached at one point and a dyke lock ("Getijdenduiker") was built, which controls the salty water at high tide Seawater floods the former polder land and drains off again at low tide.
