The oldest reference to the Habighorst watermill dates back to 1438. It belonged to the Habighorst manor until 1920, when it became the property of the miller at the time. It was ultimately powered by a turbine, with a roller mill, and a grist mill. However, after 1945, there were plans to modernize it. The miller at the time had already built a building for this purpose on the other side of the stream. However, the general decline of mills caused his plan to be abandoned in 1953.
