The jewel of the parish of Eggolsheim is the baroque church of St. John the Baptist in Schirnaidel.
The small village owes the construction of the church to Johann Georg Pfister (1656-1718) from Schirnaidel, the prince-bishop's chancellery in Bamberg. The Bamberg master mason Andreas Rheinthaler († June 1718) was in charge of the construction work at the time; the building plan on which it is based presumably comes from the Bamberg architect Johann Dientzenhofer (1663-1726).translated by
