Arco is located north of the Altogarda plain, the final part of the Sarca river valley which flows into Lake Garda from here, 6 km north-northeast of Riva del Garda. The position protected by the mountains and the proximity of Lake Garda allow this area to maintain a particularly mild climate (which allows the growth of Mediterranean plants), which has made this city a popular resort for centuries. North of Arco is the Patone cave, a horizontal cave that can be easily visited.
