The classicist building was built in the first half of the 19th century. From here, the city administration and the city council controlled the city's fortunes until Kohren-Sahlis was incorporated into Frohburg in 2018. In 1871 the Ratskeller with a pavilion in the courtyard was ceremoniously inaugurated. The city's first telephone was located here in 1879 and the Imperial Post Office opened in 1888.
