The "old rectory" on Bahnhofstrasse, built in 1672, is one of the most beautiful and (with the neighboring Spoerlé fountain) most photographed buildings in the city of Ameriswil. The half-timbered house was used as a parsonage until 1974 and since then, after extensive renovation, has served as the splendid seat of the Protestant parish administration.
