Låsbygade is one of the oldest surviving streets in Kolding. The first settlement on the east side of the street began in the 16th century with the construction of several small half-timbered houses. Some of them were called "soldiers' barracks" because they were intended for subordinate commanders of the garrisons in the city.Up until the 19th century, part of the road was characterized by the fact that it connected directly to agricultural land, so that during this time cattle were also led through the road every day. Even so, Låsbygade was a street for the respectable people of the city. The fact that the state railway passed Kolding near the harbor meant that Låsbygade's status as the city's main shopping street could no longer be maintained. On the other hand, it was possible to reach Egtvedbanen station with customers from the north at the end of Låsbygade. In the 20th century, Låsbygade was reputed to be home to most of the town's pubs.Source: KoldingWiki
