Zwiefalter Klosterbräu – brewing tradition since 1521, Zwiefalten
It was 500 years ago when the first beer was brewed in the Benedictine monastery in Zwiefalten. Zwiefalter brewing has been enjoyed in the Alb for half a millennium now. An unimaginably long time in which the world has changed completely. But here in Zwiefalten we still brew in the tradition of the monastery brothers of yesteryear: according to the traditional heritage of the Benedictines and with the good gifts of local nature. Through traditional brewing, patience and plenty of time to mature, valuable raw materials are turned into beers with a special character and taste.

This private brewery can be visited either as a registered group or during a free visit (every Sunday at 3 pm). Here one learns so much about the beer and its production or their required components. It also explains what high quality standards the raw materials have to meet and what happens to them when they have contributed to the brewing process.
