In 1974 the council of the municipality of Horsten leased the area of the old bathing establishment to an interest group as an alternative to selling it to a private person. This IG cleaned up, planted the pond - later dredged the pond and put in fish - and redesigned the area as an adventure playground with an area for small children and a football field. In 1975 the official opening took place with a football game fathers against sons, the referee was the mayor. A thick file folder shows the development with all its ups and downs.

Since then, many children's and summer festivals, even spontaneous ice festivals, have been held. A study carried out by a group of students from the University of Hanover confirms the acceptance of this place. The pond, the location of the field and the football field are particularly attractive for children.

Every year around 15 to 20 groups from schools, kindergartens and associations use the barbecue area. In its versatility and beauty, the site is unique and unique in the urban area of Bad Nenndorf.
