The Rensumaborg, based on a 16th-century stone house, was first mentioned in 1623. Willem Fockes rented the deposit at that time. What the stone house looked like in the 16th century is not known, nor is it known to what the name of the deposit is. From the mid-19th century, the house was rented out, so that it served as a horticultural school for a while. Today the borg is inhabited: groningerborgen.nl/borg/?cg%5Boid%5D=1004&cHash=6be4b599239312d000c4373634ab6e9e
