Mount Hosmer is a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River near Lansing, Iowa. It offers views of the town of Lansing, the Blackhawk Bridge, and the vast expanse of the Mississippi River Valley upstream and down. The overlook is accessible by car, but there are many hiking trails throughout the blufftop park that offer additional views. Mount Hosmer is named after Harriet Hosmer, a well-known American sculptor from the east coast, who won a footrace to the top of the mount during a steamboat layover in the 1850s.
