Bodensteiner Cliffs Plateau

On a hike 🥾 from Bodenstein to the grotto / hunting lodge, you pass many beautiful rock cliffs 🪨 in the forest 🌳. They can be admired in different sizes 😊. Very beautiful forest paths, some of them narrow and overgrown, lead to the cliffs!

If you want to enjoy the forest and rocks, this is the place for you. Beautiful rock formations 🪨 can be admired over and over again over a long distance. The forest paths sometimes seem very natural and are sometimes not recognizable as such, which has a certain charm!

The Bodensteiner cliffs extend for a length of about four kilometers between Bodenstein and the Jägerhaus am Hainberg.

They are built from the Hilsandstein of the Lower Cretaceous. This sandstone is mostly placed in the so-called sub-aptium and is around 110 million years old today.

It is advisable to wear good shoes.
