I encountered Ibex in this section of the path up to Lac d'Emosson and again when I returned back down to the valley floor. They were very tame and seemed not to be disturbed by my presence, even trying to climb up a small tree to reach the succulent leaves at the top of the branches.

After being surprised on the way up by an Ibex rushing passed me as I walked up the path I was more prepared for my Ibex encounter on my return . The Ibex was quite tame and happily climbed up some small trees in front of me to get to the tender young leaves on the upper branches.
