Between 1896 and 1902, a town hall in the neo-Flemish Renaissance style was built on Dorpstraat in Emblem (Ranst), to a design by Jaak Winders. The former town hall was protected as a monument in 1992.

On the corner of the stately town hall, in a niche next to the stairs, you can admire a bluestone statue of Gummarus as an idealized medieval knight with a cross in his banner. The icing on the cake of this beautiful building is a wrought iron weather vane of Saint Gummarus on top of the onion-shaped roof of the belfry tower, referring to the miracle of the source.
