Similiar in feel to Bannerdown, but that's where the comparison ends. This is very much a city climb, but that doesn't mean it's busy. In fact, I did it in the middle of the day, in the middle of the week and it was very quiet. That may change at rush hour! It doesn't have the country views of Bannerdown (until you have reached the top) but the bottom half has some lovely Georgian buildings to admire as you huff and puff up the hill.

A corker of a hill - first half mile is quite steep with increased ramps. An alternative route with less traffic is go through the approach golf course, then join the hill off Sion Hill. That involves less traffic but not the full hill.

Road cycling

One of Bath's nicer hills as it doesn't get overly steep. Probably not the safest going down however. Be mindful of where you're going once to get to the top as nice roads to cycle on after the summit are few and far between. Avoid during commuting hours.
