    These deep gorges, on the north-western slope of Mont-Lozère, were dug by the Bramont stream, the water of which is partly underground. The slopes are occupied by wooded vegetation made from Scots pine and oak.

    On the edge of the stream where the European Otter lives, a riparian ash, poplar, willow and alder forest develops, characteristic of the waterside.

    The cliff areas allow the nesting of the European Grand Duke, whose Lozerian population is estimated between 20 and 30 pairs.

    The woodlands are suitable for Circaète Jean-le-Blanc for which Lozère has between 120 and 190 pairs.
