The five Helenenhof ponds are located not far from the western border of the district, approx. 2.2 km northwest of the municipality of Lipprechterode. They were created through the construction of several earth dams in the "Bauerngrund" valley. The fishing community of the Nordhausen district, especially the committed members from Bleicherode and the surrounding area, are responsible for the care of this excellent biotope. Already at the end of the 1960s they created the ponds amid great political difficulties.
Special features: boat fishing is not permitted. The fishing routes are marked by signposts.
