The first mentions of the Tenczynek Brewery appear as early as 1553, when Andrzej and Stanisław Tenczyński divided the property among themselves. In addition to the castle, also good, villages and a farm with a malt brewery. Therefore, it should be assumed that the brewery already existed before 1553.

After the Swedish Deluge (1655), Tenczynek is mentioned again in documents, including in the list of goods in the farm: a lord's brewery, a distillery, a bakery, a new mill with a larch manor, later known as the Sobieski Manor. Legend has it that "King Jan III Sobieski stopped here returning from Vienna after the victorious relief and tasted Tenczyn delicacies, including beer brewed there".

The currently preserved brewery was founded from scratch by Count Adam Potocki from nearby Krzeszowice. In the years 1848 - 1854, he expanded a large brewery and distillery on the farm (the brewery then received a steam engine and modern, for those times, devices), which prospered well until the early 1930s. Beer from Tenczynek was known and valued in Europe, as evidenced by the gold medal won at the exhibition in Pilzno in 1904. They were sold in Košice, and even in Vienna and Budapest.
