Town Hall Tower - a Gothic tower built at the beginning of the 15th century, located in Kraków's Main Market Square 1. It has survived from the town hall which was demolished in 1820 - then the main administrative building of Kraków. It is 70 m high.
Among the buildings in the Market Square, the town hall stood out with its silhouette: a high tower, once crowned with a gothic cupola with a clock, with an adjoining body closed with a triangular gable and a granary.
The first mention of the town hall tower comes from 1383. The present tower was built at the beginning of the 15th century, but not later than in 1444. In 1434, the work on the tower was carried out by a stonemason, Jan from Toruń. The tower was covered with a lead sheet painted green.
In 1524, a clock brought from Nuremberg was installed on the tower.
