Initially it was an old Collegiate Church or Collegiate Church of Jerez de la Frontera, until in 1980 it was elevated to the dignity of a cathedral.

After the withdrawal of the Moors, the cathedral was built on the foundations of the largest mosque in Jerez. The bell tower replaced the minaret and can be climbed.
Exciting, that you can visit not only the nave with its chapels, but also many of the side rooms.

The cathedral is very worth seeing. You should bring a bit of time and preferably headphones 🎧 for your mobile phone so that you can listen to the audio guide. The entrance fee is currently 6 €.
