The Mauracher Berg near Denzlingen rises as a small ridge from the flat, low-terrace area of the plain between the Elz in the Black Forest and Glotter. It is not only Denzlingen's local mountain, because in addition to its value as a local recreation area, it is always worth a trip, especially for geologists. The Black Forest Rim Fault runs directly over the mountain ridge and separates the Black Forest Mountains from the sunken Rhine Graben.
