At one point the bike had to be carried down a single trail. This took at least 20 minutes because it was so steep and narrow. In addition, small parts of the trail were missing and alternatives had to be found. Otherwise the tour is quite varied.

Bring your camera, please. This section of the Eurovelo 1 was one of my favourites. The scenery was BEAUTIFUL. Please note this part of the trail links to the Fisherman's trail, so there are hikers about, who co-exist peacefully, but be aware if you're tearing through this section :)
I took a touring bike on this part, which was fine, but I had to walk a few sections. Best suited for gravel bikes, or even better - a hardtail MTB for the very best experience.

Cycling

The condition of the path is more suitable for mountain bikes than for trekking bikes: sand and rock alternate; a pretty bumpy affair. But it's fun if you have some riding technique.
