We know that in 1492 Christopher Columbus tried to reach the Far East by crossing the Atlantic Ocean and eventually ended up in the Americas. While sailing next to the Canary Islands, he wrote some notes in his blog about a major volcanic eruption on the island of Tenerife. Tradition indicates that it took place in Montaña Reventada. Clearly visible here, a river of lava coming from the volcano Montaña Reventada. It gives the feeling of still being active
