Herbivores:
Grass, leaves, buds, crops (potatoes, beets), acorns, beechnuts, chestnuts, tree bark, fruit
Offspring:
Mating season (“rut”) in September to December. Birth of the calf in May/June; spotted fur of the calf as camouflage
Special:
Deer shed their antlers in February. New antlers grow within about 140 days and weigh up to 11 kg.
