In the fumarolic field there is a characteristic flora and in particular, the Cyperus polystachyus, typical of tropical areas and existing in Europe only in Ischia. Furthermore, alunite forms in the fumarolic field of Monte Cito, where the presence of active faults favors the ascent and circulation of acid and sulphate-rich hydrothermal fluids.
