The Horti Leonini are an enchanting garden located in the heart of San Quirico d'Orcia, among the ancient bastions of the village on the Via Francigena. Built around 1581 on land that Francesco I dei Medici had donated to Diomede Leoni, the Horti take their name from their owner and have maintained the original structure to this day, constituting a well-preserved example of a classic Italian garden and a model of park arrangement resumed in the following centuries. The garden is divided into two parts.

The lower area, in the shape of a rhombus, which is accessed via a small brick courtyard, is enclosed by walls and pruned holm oaks and is made up of triangular flower beds bordered by a double box hedge, with the statue of Cosimo III in the center of the Doctors

The Horti Leonini is a beautiful example of an Italian garden, created around 1580 by Diomede Leoni. The park, located in the heart of San Quirico d'Orcia, is divided into two zones. The lower part, in the shape of a diamond, is surrounded by walls and consists of triangular flower beds bordered by a double box hedge. In the center is a statue of Cosimo III de' Medici. The upper part of the park, reached by a travertine staircase, was once the site of the medieval Cassero Tower, of which only the ruins now remain.
