The western sources of the Świder are the initial section of the Świder River, which has its sources in the Żelechowska Upland, near Stoczek Łukowski. This river, approximately 89 km long, is a right tributary of the Vistula and flows through the picturesque areas of the Lublin and Masovian Voivodeships. In 1978, the Świder Nature Reserve was established, covering the section of the river from the village of Dłużew to the mouth of the Vistula, protecting the unique natural and landscape values of this area.
