In 1595 the Elgermühle was built. This originally consisted of three mill buildings, each equipped with a water wheel. These three mill wheels were removed in 1860 and replaced by a large, overturned water wheel.
While the right mill was used to grind grain, the middle and left buildings were operated as a copper and brass mill until a sewing needle grinding shop was established here in 1818.
