The ruin Casa Hamilton - La Gordejuela was built in 1905 by the English family Hamilton, which was revolutionary at the time, because previously the precious water of the numerous springs had been allowed to flow freely into the sea. Thanks to the conveyor system, it was then possible to supply the surrounding regions with water.

An old ruin right on the sea
Directly on the cliff stands the house, which leads down to a brick zigzag staircase. From the top, the walls look like they are the remains of an old maritime church. In reality, however, this is an industrial ruin. More precisely, the building belongs to the first water pump station in Tenerife. This is still good to recognize that some pipes pull up the slope.

In good weather really worth a visit. From the top a beautiful view of bays and the old waterworks.
