The birthplace of Enver Hoxha, the communist ruler of Albania from 1945-1985. During the communist era, the "Museum of the Antifascist National Liberation Struggle of the Former Gjirokastra County" was established there. Today it houses the Ethnographic Museum, which shows the typical interior design of Gjirokastra's old town houses. The house does not show the original condition, but was extensively rebuilt and expanded in the socialist era.
