After World War II, the church was occupied by the Russians and served as an entertainment hall, and the presbytery was a place for the orchestra. At the end of 1945, the Russians set fire to the church, but fortunately the fire was extinguished. In 1946, the Russians left the village, and the church was taken over by Polish settlers.
