The covered market was built from 1931 to 1932, it is built on the square which was called, at the time, place de la Demi-Lune, in the neo-regionalist style, in the shape of a semicircle, by the Révillion Company, on the plans of the young Marseille architect Henri-Léon Bloch, associated with an eminent Grand Prix de Rome, Henri-Paul Nénot.
