The "Wirtshaus an St. Severin" is located directly opposite the church tower.

The massive Romanesque west tower made of quarry stone with the Gothic helmet, which still dominates the Ruppichterother Oberdorf today, is dated to the first half of the 12th century. The former nave is believed to date from the same time. The earlier choir roles, however, were to be assigned to the 15th to 16th centuries. The nave and the choir parts were put down in 1892 due to dilapidation and replaced by a completely new building in 1892/1893, namely today's neo-Gothic three-aisled hall church in rubble construction with transept and octagonal choir. The new church was consecrated on September 10, 1893. The Romanesque tower was preserved.
