Monument to Giuseppe Verdi

The two bronze plaques are reminiscent of scenes from the works and episodes of the master (as he likes to be called here).
The Verdiana altar survived the 1944 bombing and used to stand in front of the main train station.

At first glance, this monument may be more reminiscent of a war memorial, such as those found everywhere in memory of the fallen soldiers of this town. The wreaths placed under the large relief panel in particular reinforce this impression, but it is very deceptive:
