At the narrowest point of Fischland, there are just 400 meters between water and water. From the dike you can see both, the Baltic Sea on the left and the Bodden on the right. In front of you you can see the Baltic Sea resort of Wustrow.
Incidentally, shortly after Wustrow is the highest point in Fischland, the Bakelberg. It is almost 18 meters above sea level.

At this narrowing between the Baltic Sea and the Saaler Bodden lobbyists (sailors) have been trying for years to create a breakthrough between the Bodden and the Baltic Sea, with the result that the peninsula Fischland Darß would become an island. So far, the natives could defend against it. By renaturation of the Fischland meadows at this narrow point, the Bodden waters of the Dierhagen-Wustrow connection road are getting closer and closer. Is this perhaps the beginning of the breakthrough for the lobbyists, true to the motto "From the back through the chest into the eye"?
