The Pühringerhütte (1,637 m) in the Styrian part of the Salzkammergut is located directly on the Elmsee at the foot of the Elm and Rotgschirr and can be reached from Gössl via the Lahngangseen. It is located on the long-distance hiking trail 201 and the Via Alpina - Violette Route - and offers ideal overnight accommodations for hikers and climbers who want to cross the Dead Mountains from Altaussee to Hinterstoder. Ski tourers can go self-sufficient in winter.
