In addition to the peat station Rottau the Schönramer felt offers a lot of interesting facts about raised bogs, the (industrial) peat extraction in the last century together with the labor input of Hitler Youth and prisoners of war as well as today's renaturation. It takes a good 100 years for 10 cm of new peat! Especially recommended is this circular path to the flowering of heather plants.
