The Bieketurm is a three-storey defense tower in Attendorn, which is part of the former city fortifications. It dates back to the 13th century and, besides the powder tower, is the only remaining part of the Attendorn city fortifications. The remaining gates, towers and walls were demolished after the city fire of 1812 and used as building material for the reconstruction of the inner city. Wikepedia

The armory and museum of the Schützengesellschaft Attendorn 1222 e.V. is the Bieketurm, built in the 13th century as part of the fortifications of the city of Attendorn. After the city fire of 1783, large parts of the city wall were used as "quarries" for new buildings, so that the fortifications were almost completely demolished in 1812. In addition to the Powder Tower, only the Bieke Tower remained. It was taken over by the rifle club in 1985 and converted into the armory and museum of the Attendorn rifle club in 1993. Since then, between the shooting festivals u. a. presents the flags, royal chains, Iser heads, tanks and halberds of the rifle club. Corresponding guided tours are also possible by prior arrangement, duration approx. 1 hour (subject to a fee).
