In my opinion, this is the very best, least busy, drive from the Nagold Valley to the high places (also to Altburg & co., if you can afford the detour).
You should be careful going downhill on the section from Sommenhardt to Teinach station, as the route is quite narrow and the tight bends are a bit confusing. Traffic is extremely rare, but possible. I prefer to drive down on the road.
