The museum collections contain Neolithic material from the Bronze Age, Etruscans, Venetians, Celts, Romans, Lombards, Goths, as well as from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. The museum houses the "lovers", namely two skeletons from the Neolithic age that were found in an embrace in a tomb in the village of Valdaro, near the city.
