De Vlietmolen is a seesaw mill just east of Hoogmade. The mill was built in 1913 for the drainage of the Vlietpolder, as a replacement for a burned down earlier mill. At the bottom of the mill is a house that is inhabited. Until 1929 the mill had a paddle wheel. In that year a screw pump was installed. Next to the mill there is now a mortar with which the water is raised. Because the transmission is under the floor, the inside of the mill is quite spacious for a seesaw mill. The Rijnlandse Molenstichting restored the mill in 1967. A second restoration followed in 2001-2002, during which the mill was made suitable for grinding again.
