"... The small turret on top of the old school as a roof turret indicates that the building was not only used for school purposes. In 1791, an extension was made to the school in which the altar was housed. By moving the wall, the A priest from Werden monastery read mass until 1803. After many vacancies, a vicar came to serve the chapel in Velbert in 1820. Hetterscheidt joined the new parish in Velbert in 1845. Only in 1909 did the chapel congregation come to Heiligenhaus. That year the St. Jakobus chapel was inaugurated, which ended the provisional arrangement. The election of the church patron commemorates the membership in the Homberg parish of St. Jakobus the Elder from 1774-1845. With this building, the abbot kitchen ensemble was complete, to which, however, the Hetterscheidter Mühle still belonged at that time (demolished in 1932) and the pastorate house built in 1826 (demolished in 1972). ...
