A mill in Rekum, probably a Bockmühle, is handed down in 1430.The existing Dutch windmill was built in 1873.1925 made some changes to her. After the First World War, the conversion to motor drive. After the destruction of the cap in February storm 1962, the mill head was torn off with its wings. Until 1967/68 the mill was restored but no longer used productively. In 1989/90 the Reith was re-covered and in 2001 the wings were renewed.The position of the unattended mill wings in an angled cross signaled in the "mill language" from afar: "after work", respectively "out of service".
