Anís del Mono Distillery

Section of the Badalona Seafront Promenade that runs in front of the "Pont del Petroli" and the Anís del Mono factory. There are numerous restaurants, as well as services such as showers, water fountains, pipi can for dogs, playgrounds with swings... There is also a first-aid post. In summer it is very crowded, especially on weekends.

Anís del Mono is a registered brand of aniseed liqueur that was created in the distillery founded in 1868 by the brothers Josep and Vicenç Bosch i Grau at number 115 of Carrer Eduard Maristany in Badalona. The name of the brand is taken, supposedly, because in one of the boats of the Bosch family, who had business in America, a monkey arrived that they adopted as a pet at the factory in Badalona and had a great popular response.
The factory is an emblematic building of the city for the Modernist style of the distillation rooms, the manager's office and the archives, as well as for the period wooden furniture, designed by the Badalón architect Joan Amigó i Barriga and the advertising posters of Ramon Casas.
