Pestalozzistraße in Sankt Peter-Ording is the start of an experiment: bicycles in front of cars.
The whole of the Federal Republic of Germany complains about high gasoline prices. In Sankt Peter-Ording that doesn't seem to bother most of the visitors, every meter is covered by car.
Studies have shown that most of the routes that are driven by motor vehicle are less than 5 km. In Sankt Peter-Ording in particular, however, most of the routes can be covered by bike or on foot.

Pestalozzistraße is now a bicycle street. Tempo 30 applies, cyclists have priority and are allowed to ride next to each other.

Unfortunately, the bicycle road is seen more as a road by some motorists.
