The name Hain used to mean residence, from which the name Haina was derived. The hamlet was founded around 1100 AD; at that time it comprised four courtyards. The Haina farm was an unwinding and pre-tensioning area for horse-drawn vehicles. In 1908 the Haina farm was expanded with a fifth farm, and around 1980 a 6000 year old arrowhead was found there.
