It is a rectangular fieldstone hall building from the second half of the 13th century, with a rectangular choir. The western tower was destroyed during the Thirty Years' War, and its wide pointed arcade leading to the nave is still bricked up in the western wall. There are stepped pointed arch portals to the north and south, and a slightly alternating group of rounded, three-window windows to the east. In 1993/94, the interior of the church was renovated, restoring the triumphal arch and ceiling beams.

Inside there is a wooden pulpit from around 1700 with a crown-shaped sound shield. The polygonal basket has wood-colored corner columns, and a richly decorated mustache-shaped ornament is framed in a gold frame. The western gallery and the choir stall also date from the same period. A late Gothic bronze chandelier from the second half of the 15th century consists of tendrils with quatrefoils and a figure of the Virgin Mary at the top. Another such chandelier is a 19th-century copy. The church also contains an inscription tombstone of Carl Friedrich von Sydow, who died in 1763.
