The Berlin-Spandau shipping canal connects the Spree and Havel. It is 12.1 kilometers long. It branches off from the Spree on the right bank in front of Berlin Central Station. Immediately after that is the Humboldthafen and 1.25 kilometers away from this, at the confluence with the Panke, is the Nordhafen. Just under two kilometers further on is the Westhafen. At kilometer 7.9, the Plötzensee lock ensures the level of the Spree and Havel is equalized. The Berlin-Spandau shipping canal flows under the A 111 and between Tegel Airport and Jungfernheide public park into the Havel between Spandauer See and Tegeler See.

Great route and a good/important connection to the Havel and more nature outside of Berlin.
