The current pilgrimage church was consecrated in 1707 after previous buildings were destroyed by the Turks twice (1529 and 1683). The towers date from 1740 and originally had onion helmets. The monastery was abolished in 1787 (Josef II) and has been inhabited by monks again since 1926.
The name Loretto comes from the replica of the pilgrimage shrine of Loreto near Ancona.

📷 29.03.2018 - Loretto is always worth a visit, especially to the Kirtag, every year to the Assumption on August 15. 😊👍

Big and well known church. Is she the reason for someone to come to Loretto? There are many churches, and Loretto also has an off-road park.
