There are places where everything looks like a painting – and no one has dared to call it kitsch. The reservoir at Hoher Licht lies like a forgotten teardrop amidst green hills, framed by paths that wind through the grass like promises.

All around: the Alpe Uga, lush and peaceful as a Sunday afternoon. Above: the horizon, jagged with peaks that behave like extras in an old legend. And when the sun breaks through, even the stones shine as if they've just been washed.

A place that doesn't call out loudly, but is quietly there – and that's precisely why it's so haunting. Perhaps it's the clarity, perhaps the view back into the valley, perhaps the interplay of the distant view and the cowbell. Anyone who stands up here knows: life is sometimes simple – if you let it be.

A few meters higher, the pond glitters, silent and unwavering. It knows the hikers. It sees them come and go. And sometimes, when no one is looking, it reflects for a moment what we often miss down there: peace.
